Rates

The main mission of New Life Foundation is to provide an affordable recovery program for those who are suffering. We depend on volunteers and donations in order to offer the program at such a low price, but we also ask residents to help contribute to some of the costs.

30 nights or more – 700 THB per night

14-29 nights – 850 THB per night

Air conditioning – extra 200 THB per night

The fee includes accommodation, 3 meals a day, 3 hours of life coaching per week, and all therapeutic activities and workshops (extra charges may apply for some activities such as excursions).

Requirements

1. For people suffering from substance abuse problems: you have been clean for at least 15 days and can prove this.

2. Our resident program requires a minimum commitment of 14 nights.

3. Those who cannot commit for a minimum of 14 nights who are interested in personal development (i.e.  not recovering addicts), please register as a guest and opt for life coaching or an Enneagram course. Please contact us for more information regarding this option.

4. Insurance Policy: We require all guests, volunteers, and residents to organize their own health and travel insurance. Kindly make your own arrangements and send proof before arrival. In the event that you are not covered by an insurance policy and you experience illness and/or injury, New Life Foundation will not be held liable.

5. Participation in all mandatory activities in the program (please see the schedule below).

6. Please note that we do not provide services to support treatment for individuals with active eating disorders or who wish to taper off psychiatric medications.

Program

As soon as you arrive you will receive a guided tour and an orientation. During your stay, you will work one-on-one with life coaches for a total of three hours per week. Mindfulness training forms the basis of the work that is done with the life coach. They will support and guide you through the program.

As well, residents do three hours of working meditation each morning. This is an important part of our therapeutic program. It is our chance to mindfully support the community, whilst inhabiting every moment of our work, and learning to relax in the service. There are many ways you can contribute. You can learn about recycling or natural building, help prepare Thai-style meals for the community, or join the organic gardening team.

The afternoon workshops are another key component of the program. The topics vary, but can include Enneagram, group therapy, non-violent communication, relapse prevention, mindfulness-based CBT, compassionate sharing, 12-steps, art therapy, blocks and assets, and many other tools to facilitate mindfulness and spirituality.

Staying at the Foundation

The organization has beautiful clean facilities, with a swimming pool and steam bath. We provide individual ensuite rooms and three healthy meals a day. We cater to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets. There is free WIFI in the dining hall, so you can bring your own laptop. There are also two communal computers that you can use.

On Saturday mornings all residents and volunteers participate in mandatory community work. The rest of the weekend is free. We organize a shopping trip to town on Saturday afternoon, and optional excursions on Sunday. Examples of Sunday excursions include kayaking, trekking, and visits to cultural and natural attractions around the area. A key part of joining our community is practicing noble silence. From 9:30pm to 8:00am during the week, and 9:30pm-9:00am on Sundays, we ask everyone to join in this practice. The silence is very healing, and an excellent opportunity to slow down and observe what’s happening in our minds and bodies.

All our activities serve the same goal: to help us understand ourselves better, cultivate emotional awareness and enable us to face the problems, pain and conflict in our life in a balanced way and learn from them.
