Now that I am the one in need of a crutch, it is difficult – even painful – to accept. I’ll admit, I would rather ‘make do’, even suffer, on my own than show myself to be vulnerable. But here, today, in this community environment, each member a willing crutch upon which I can lean, I am experimenting tentatively with allowing myself to be supported.
The unique self improvement program we offer at New Life is designed to provide you with a wide variety of tools to foster inner growth. We develop a deeper understanding of ourselves, the world, and our relationship with those around us. Find out more about we offer here at the Foundation:
New Life has grown so much in the past three years, thanks to the generosity of our founder, Johan Hansen, as well as our energetic and enthusiastic staff, volunteers, and residents – not to mention yourself, dear reader. Nevertheless, we still need a great deal of support in order to keep the New Life project going.
Bridget, a middle-aged wife and mother from England, said her good-byes in this morning’s daily community meeting: “I came to New Life because I had been trapped in a highly destructive relationship for many years and, however much I wanted to, I was incapable of getting out. (…)”
Raul Campos has never been to New Life. But he’s friends with Tiago Marques, who volunteered at New Life last year. Through Tiago’s Facebook page, Raul heard about Naha’s heartbreaking living conditions. Find out how he will help our fundraising campaign by running a marathon in his hometown Hamburg.
