Excursions and RelaxationAn important part of our program is going outside of the Foundation boundaries. Life outside of the Foundation is just as important as activities on the premises, so every Sunday we organize an excursion for any visitor to join – whether resident, volunteer or guest. The excursion destination is decided together every week so everyone gets a vote in what we do. We also have an onsite massage therapist to help you relax even more. |

Sustainable AgricultureIt is New Life’s goal to be self-sustaining. All staff and residents are committed to explore harmonious ways to coexist with nature and find local sources of food. We have 65 acres of land where we grow our own rice, corn, vegetables and fruit using organic and bio-intensive gardening techniques. |

EnneagramFor more than 1000 years the enneagram has been used to gain understanding of the human mind. At the New Life Foundation we use Enneagram to discover our inner potential and gain understanding of ourselves and those around us. |

Art TherapyWe organize various art therapy workshops at New Life: painting, drawing, pottery, and many other forms of art. The goal of these workshops is always to gain understanding; understanding of our emotions, our thoughts and our feelings. |

Relapse PreventionAt New Life Foundation we offer Relapse Prevention Training (RPT). In RPT residents learn to recognize high-risk situations for continued drug use, including both external and internal stimuli. Residents are taught a set of skills designed to cope with these stimuli and reduce the likelihood that they will return to drug use. |

Compassionate SharingDuring all the activities that involve communication we use compassionate sharing as a tool to understand each other’s feelings and needs. We listen mindfully to others, without judging, and we express ourselves honestly; we communicate with empathy and respect. |

12 Steps and Group sharingSeveral times a week there are Buddhist recovery meetings and the opportunity to join 12-steps and speaker’s meetings. The goal of these group sessions is to learn from each other by confronting, supporting and sharing with each other in our recovery. In these group sessions we will have silent meditation as well as discussions about how spirituality and mindfulness can aid us in our recovery. |
