This is our third Hungry Ghost retreat with Vince Cullen. The Realm of the Hungry Ghost refers to “the condition of insatiable craving as experienced by alcoholics and drug addicts”. This is summed up by Vince as a craving for life to be other than the way that it is.
When Tim found out that the medication the doctor had prescribed was highly addictive tranquilizers and sleeping pills, he was shocked and horrified. Looking back at the situation 30 years later, he doubts that he would have been alive today if it wasn’t for his meditation teacher. Tim says, “Life had a different plan than I could ever have imagined”.
